Marshall assistant heading for Louisiana Tech
One of Marshall University's most
engaging assistant football coaches will continue his veteran career at
Louisiana Tech, according to the Huntington (WV) Herald-Dispatch.
George Darlington, a defensive
assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for three seasons, has accepted
the secondary coach position with the Bulldogs.
A Charleston, WV, native, Darlington
was hired by then-Marshall coach Bobby Pruett following Darlington's 30-year
tenure at Nebraska.
Missouri,
Snyder reach settlement
The University of Missouri and Quin
Snyder have reached a settlement which has resulted in Snyder resigning his
duties as head coach of the school's basketball program.
Terms of the settlement will be
announced later, according to the university's athletic web site.
Snyder had directed the Tigers program
since taking over prior to the 1999-2000 season. In his time at Missouri,
Snyder amassed a 126-91 overall record.
Associate Head Coach Melvin Watkins,
former head coach and star player at Charlotte, will serve as acting head
coach for the remainder of the 2005-06 season.
Mizzou topped Kansas State 74-71 on
Sunday to stop a 6-game losing streak in its first game without Snyder, a
former Duke player and assistant coach.
