For Pirate football recruiting aficionados, today should stir anticipation similar to Christmas Eve, while tomorrow will feature thrills akin to tearing into presents on Christmas morning.

Wednesday is the day East Carolina football coach Skip Holtz will officially unveil his second recruiting class and the school's athletic department has invited fans to participate in the excitement during a special "2006 Signing Day Fan Fest."

The event, which ECU has conducted annually in recent years, will be staged from 4:00-5:00 p.m. in the Harvey Hall at the on-campus Murphy Center.

Holtz will announce the names of this year's crop of recruits and provide details on each signee before capping the presentation with video highlights.

In-depth biographical capsules of East Carolina's signees will be distributed to fans upon entry and complimentary light refreshments and hors d'oeuvres will be available throughout the event.

Representatives of the ECU Ticket Office will be on-hand to answer any inquiries about 2006 season ticket packages.

East Carolina's official athletic website, ECUPirates.com, will provide hourly updates on ECU's signing class throughout the day beginning at 10:00 a.m.
