Chris Douglas-Roberts led Memphis to a 2-0 week, with wins over Houston and Rice. The victories improved the Tigers' win streak to 17 games, the longest current streak in the nation.

Douglas-Roberts' heroics earned the sophomore guard Conference USA player of the week honors for the second time this season.

In the Feb. 22 game with Rice, Douglas-Roberts scored seven of the Tigers first 11 points and finished the game with 14 points in 18 minutes of play. He also dished out a career-high-tying five assists against the Owls.

In Sunday's game with Houston, Douglas-Roberts netted 19 points and tied his career-best with four steals.

After leading his team to a 4-0 week and running the team's winning streak to six games, Rice sophomore infielder/outfielder Aaron Luna has been named the Conference USA hitter of the week.

Southern Miss senior righthander Ryan Belanger, who shut down a red-hot Georgia Southern team last Friday, earned pitcher of the week honors.

Luna batted a team-best .467 (7-for-15) last week with four RBI's and six runs scored. He hit safely in each game and slugged a double in all four games.

Luna added a home run to go with the four doubles for a .933 slugging percentage. He drew two walks to maintain a .529 on-base percentage. Defensively, he was perfect in the field on 14 chances and he started or turned three of the team's five double plays.

Facing a Georgia Southern team that was hitting .363 with 47 doubles, three triples and nine home runs in 11 games, Belanger held the Eagles to one extra base hit. Only two Georgia Southern runners reached third base during a 7-1 Southern Miss win last Friday.

The East Carolina women's basketball team earned the No. 3 seeding in the Conference USA tournament, which begins Thursday in Tulsa, OK. With an 11-5 record in league play, the Lady Pirates earned their first-ever first round bye in the upcoming championships.
