The Big 12 Conference announced a public reprimand of Texas Tech University basketball coach Bobby Knight for a public statement he made following the Red Raiders' overtime loss at Oklahoma State game on Feb. 10.

Knight's post-game comments, which were critical of an official's call, violated the Big 12 Conference's Principles and Standards of Sportsmanship, said the league.

"The conference's principles and standards of sportsmanship prohibit coaches from making any public comments critical of game officials," stated Big 12 commissioner Kevin Weiberg. "The Big 12 has a program in place to review the performance of game officials that includes the accuracy of judgment calls. This season-long system of evaluation determines whether or not an official will receive future assignments to work Big 12 games."
