ECU's Graham helps Aina to Hula Bowl triumph

The Aina team, featuring offensive lineman Eric Graham from East Carolina, scored two touchdowns in the final minute to defeat the Kai team 18-10 in the Hula Bowl in Honolulu, HI, on Sunday.

Reggie Merriweather of Clemson scored on a 1-yard run with 44 seconds left. Tigers teammate Will Proctor completed a 2-point conversion pass to Tennessee’s Bret Smith to give the Aina an 11-10 lead.

Alabama cornerback Ramzee Robinson intercepted Boise State quarterback Jared Zabransky’s pass and returned it for a touchdown with 10 seconds left.


Brohm announces he's staying at Louisville

Louisville quarterback Brian Brohm will return for his senior season, the Louisville native announced at a Monday morning press conference at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.

Brohm is 18-3 record as a starter.

Despite missing two games with a thumb injury, Brohm threw for a career-best 3,049 yards and 16 touchdowns in the Cardinals' 12-1 season. He was MVP of the Orange Bowl after completing 24-of-34 passes for 311 yards in a 24-13 win over Wake Forest.


Cochran leads Lady Pirates past Rice

Led by freshman Lauren Cochran’s first career double-double, the East Carolina women’s basketball team defeated Conference USA opponent Rice 74-60 on Sunday afternoon at Minges Coliseum.

The Lady Pirates improved to 8-10 overall and 3-2 in league play.

East Carolina will hit the road for three straight road games, starting Thursday evening at UAB. The Lady Pirates play at Memphis on Saturday afternoon.
