C-USA basketball tourney remaining in Memphis
Conference USA commissioner Britton Banowsky has announced that the league's men's basketball championship will return to Memphis in 2008, as unanimously approved by the C-USA board of directors.

The University of Memphis will serve as host for the event, which will be played at the FedExForum for the fourth straight year.

Morgan State coach cited, hold the mayo

Todd Bozeman has an April 24 court appearance scheduled for a preliminary hearing as a result of an incident in which the Morgan State basketball coach allegedly went on a curse-filled tirade over a botched sandwich order, according to Farmville, VA, police.

The Feb. 3 incident came following Morgan State's road loss at the buzzer to Longwood, 75-73. Bozeman appeared before a magistrate this week and was released on a $1,000 unsecured bond.

East Carolina split two games with Bozeman's Bears this season.

Football speed-up rules get makeover
College football's rules-makers found evidence to overturn last season's controversial efforts to speed up games, according to a USA Today report by Steve Wieburg.

Coaches disliked the 2006 modifications, which quickened clock starts on kickoffs and possession changes. The NCAA's football rules committee has thrown those revisions out in favor of more subtle time-saving measures.

One moves kickoffs from the 35-yard line to the 30 to reduce the number of clock-killing touchbacks. Another limits replay reviews to two minutes.
