TULSA, OK — Jaden Walker scored 24 points to lead East Carolina to a 62-60 American Athletic Conference win at Tulsa on Tuesday night.
Walker played all 40 minutes for the Pirates (14-13, 5-9 AAC), hitting eight of 11 field goal attempts while claiming five rebounds with three assists.
The Golden Hurricane (5-22, 1-15) had its biggest lead at 30-19 and held a 32-25 advantage at halftime.
ECU went ahead to stay at 48-47 on a free throw by Ludgy Debaut with 5:40 to go.
R.J. Felton had 14 points and nine rebounds for the Pirates. Ezra Ausar added nine points and five rebounds as ECU had a 36-33 advantage on the boards.
Brandon Johnson contributed seven points and nine rebounds. Quentin Diboundje had five points, Dave Kasanganay netted two and Debaut scored one.
Tulsa was paced by Brandon Betson with 20 points. Jesaiah McWright and Tim Dalger had 11 points apiece in the loss.
The Pirates will be home to take on No. 1 Houston on Saturday at 8 p.m. on ESPN2. The Cougars are 25-2 overall and 13-1 in the AAC going into a home game with Tulane (17-7, 10-3) on Wednesday at 9 p.m. (ESPNU).
