CTAllen on ECU’s baseball voice tunes up for big moment

Please remember the most important part of the ‘story’ to be told this weekend is the SCORE of the game. Too many times listening and he doesn’t tell the score often enough.

richard denton on Hart eyes spillover effect from baseball success

I think many of us have complete confidence in Dave Hart. Wish we can have him for at least two years.

You're so right Earl. Hoping that Dave will take the job and stay a lot loner than six months.

richard denton on Coach rips ‘uninspired’ play

You have to agree with CG that they played very poorly and still had a chance to win all three games. Way too many mistakes.I hope Cliff will sit them down and replay all of the mistakes and count them. They had good pitching but when we make mistakes on the base paths in games when it was hard to get a runner on, that will kill you. When we can't get a bunt down when needed. Getting picked off base.Trying to take third when the ball was in the LF's glove as he was rounding second. Brown taking a one hopper in a drawn in infield and going to first instead of home to allow the tying score. Washer not advancing to third on a ball hit to the track in right center. And many more. I did not see as many quality at bats as I usually do with the Pirates. Hoping we will play hard and smart against Tulane.

Kirk Edgerton on Cougars complete sweep

I think winning the conference regular season is paramount to hosting a regional, and that's not going to happen unless we sweep our final three conference series, and Houston & USF totally collapse. They only have two conference series left. The last and only time we hosted a regional in Clark-LeClair was in 2009 when we edged out Rice for the C-USA regular season crown, Without doing research, I can't tell you who won the C-USA tournament, but we didn't. We had a great regional victory over South Carolina, but subsequently lost in the super regional @ to UNC. I can't see us hosting a regional finishing 3, 4 or 5 in the regular season in the AAC. Houston & USF also now hold series victory tiebreakers over us if we tie them for 1 or 2. Losing 5 out of 6 to them has put a damper on an otherwise great season!!

Irish Spectre on Cougars complete sweep

The radio announcer said at one point yesterday that Holba was ready to go. That surprised me, because I would've thought Godwin would've started him yesterday, and since they don't play this week, the normal rotation could've resumed next weekend. Even if he was dressed and on the bench, I have to assume that Holba was too weakened to go; the Pirates could've used a salvaging win.

Richard on Results needed from defensive hires

You did not have to see many ECU games last year to note a very weak ECU defense. The offensive line looked pitiful most of the time as well. It is a chore to drive three hours to go to a game and see the Pirates get their tails kicked badly, and then make a very long trip home. Just praying to see some progress this year. GGGOOO...PIRATES!!!

Tom on FGCU star foresees culture shock for ECU hoops

Commitment from the coach AND administration is what is needed for this position. After neglect for at least 48 years, it will not be an easy change.

Good homework on this article. Interviewing a player from a previous job was an interesting angle, and the questions were smart and on point. Thank you!

The Kidd on Dooley aiming high as new era begins

Excellent for our basketball program! It's time for Pirate Nation to step up with support. I've made a deposit on two season tix. Hopefully, next year, ECU basketball will be so popular that the only way you can get a decent seat is to have a season ticket from this year. Lets get this ship sailing! Anyone else on board?
