Mediocre coaching is bad enough, but bad leadership at the AD level and above is program killing......Coach Dooley was fired by a poor AD and now is hired after another weak AD was let go. Finally a good administrative move for Pirate Nation.

Richard on Push to fill vacancies staying under the radar

I don't claim to be an expert on anything, but during my years since finishing up at ECU and UT, I am amazed at some of the hires made at both schools. We need to find another Terry Holland, Steve Logan and a really good basketball coach. And yes, I believe we have had good coaches for the most part, but at ECU we expect results and good programs despite less than stellar resources. For those doing the hiring, we are counting on you. GGGOOO....PPITATES!!.

I am excited to see Dave Hart back at ECU. I recall that we had a very good football program when he was AD. I am also a Tennessee grad and was pleased he at UT. His presence will create a lot of enthusiasm in The Pirate Nation. GGOOO...PPIRATES!!!

Dickie, Well written and supported with verified facts. I am glad Jeff is not involved in the hiring of the new basketball coach. Hard to believe anyone, must less several people on the committee, would have agreed he deserved a raise and a five year contract extension.
