Scelfo joins Scelfo and Scelfo at Tulane

NEW ORLEANS — Tulane signed Jesuit High School quarterback Anthony Scelfo to play for the Green Wave, head coach Chris Scelfo — the quarterback's uncle — announced Friday.

Anthony Scelfo, who led Jesuit to a 20-4 record in two seasons as the Blue Jays' starting quarterback, is the son of Green Wave offensive coordinator Frank Scelfo, the head coach's brother.

The younger Scelfo is the 20th high school senior and the only quarterback to sign with the Green Wave this year.

``We needed a quarterback in this class and I believe we got one of the best ones in the state of Louisiana,'' Chris Scelfo said. ``He was 20-4 as a starter in one of the toughest leagues in the state. He brings a knowledge of the system, and he knows what it takes to compete at this level.''
