Marshall officials announced Saturday afternoon that game two of the East Carolina-Marshall doubleheader that was interrupted Friday night by rain will resume Sunday at 10 a.m.

The Pirates (19-4, 4-0 Conference USA) and the Thundering Herd (10-13, 2-2) were tied 1-1 after 6 innings when the game was suspended.

Weather permitting, game three of the series will follow approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of game two, officials said in an announcement.

The teams were originally set to play one game each day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Officials had modified that schedule to incorporate Friday's doubleheader in an effort to get a jump on the approaching inclement weather.

East Carolina defeated Marshall 7-6 in the first game of Friday's doubleheader.
