Weather keeps ECU-MU series off-stride

After East Carolina
defeated Marshall 7-6 in the first game of Friday's
scheduled doubleheader, rain forced the suspension of the second game
with the score tied 1-1 in the middle of the seventh inning.
Marshall officials
announced that the suspended game will
resume at noon on Sunday, or sooner depending on weather conditions, with the series' third game to follow
approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the suspended game.
Officials from both
schools will meet Saturday to assess the weather situation and determine
when the second game will resume, according to a news release.
The teams were originally
set to play one game each day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Officials had
modified that schedule to
incorporate Friday's doubleheader in an effort to get a jump on the
approaching inclement weather.
