GREENVILLE — East Carolina closed the 2023 Keith LeClair Classic with an 11-2 win over Georgetown as Josh Moylan had a grand slam to cap an 8-run eighth inning.
Josh Grosz (1-0) started and pitched five hitless innings as the Pirates improved to 7-3. Grosz struck out 10 and walked four.
Joey Berini had an RBI single in the second to put ECU ahead to stay.

Jacob Starling drove in a run in the third with a single to center for a 2-0 lead.
Alec Makarewicz had a solo homer in the fourth for the Pirates.
ECU opened the scoring in the eighth with an unearned run. Ryley Johnson had a 2-run single and a bases-loaded walk to Starling preceded the blast by Moylan.
Long Beach State went 3-0 in the 20th annual classic with a 10-4 win over Indiana in the first game on Sunday. ECU was 2-1 in the 3-day event and Georgetown was 0-3 to slip to 6-5 overall.
Justin Wilcoxen went 3-for-4 as the Pirates had 13 hits.
ECU visits Queens on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Atrium Health Park in Kannapolis.
