East Carolina was among three schools involved in the American Athletic Conference’s most recent pandemic-related basketball scheduling changes.
The league announced on Monday that the ECU-Tulsa game scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 27, at Tulsa has been postponed due to an ongoing pause in activities in the ECU program.
The postponement marks the fifth straight game the Pirates will have been sidelined since a positive COVID test and subsequent contact tracing resulted in the quarantining of a number of individuals in the program on Feb. 10.
A press release from the conference also noted that a pair of Southern Methodist-Wichita state games, slated for Thursday, Feb. 25, in Wichita, and Sunday, Feb. 28, in Dallas, have been postponed as a result of a continuation of a suspension of activities in the SMU program.
The league did not provide information on the potential rescheduling of the affected games.
Barring additional schedule adjustments, ECU’s next game will be a nationally-televised home matchup with Central Florida on Thursday, Mar. 4 (9 p.m., ESPN2).
