Rain revamps tournament schedule

Conference USA release
NEW ORLEANS — Due to heavy
rains on Thursday in the New Orleans area, the schedule of games at the
2008 Entergy Conference USA Baseball Championship has been revised.
After East Carolina
defeated Rice 4-3 in Thursday's first game, the day's other three games
were washed out by the inclement weather, forcing a reshuffling of the
tournament's remaining schedule.
The weather disruption
marks just the second time in the 13-year history of the Conference USA
Baseball
Championship that a game could not be completed on its scheduled
day.
In 2005, the championship game was not played because of torrential
storms and lightning in the Hattiesburg area
The revised schedule for
Friday, Saturday and Sunday (all times Central Daylight Time):
FRIDAY
6. 9 a.m. -
Tulane vs. Central Florida
7. 12:30 p.m. Houston vs. UAB
8. 4 p.m. - Marshall vs. Southern Miss
9. 7:30 p.m. - East Carolina vs. game 7 loser
SATURDAY
10. 9 a.m. - Game 6
winner vs. game 8 loser
11. 12:30 p.m. - Game 7 winner vs. game 9 winner
12. 4 p.m. CDT - Game 8 winner vs. game 10 winner
7:30 p.m. CDT - Same teams as game 11 (if
necessary)
SUNDAY
Time TBA - Same teams as game 13 (if necessary)
1:00 p.m. CDT - Championship Game
