Two teams from the American Athletic Conference advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2026 National Invitation Tournament following decisive second-round victories on Sunday evening.

Top-seed and bracket host Tulsa (28-7) defeated UNLV 77-66, relying on balanced scoring to secure the win. Guards Ade Popoola and Miles Barnstable paced the Golden Hurricane with 16 points apiece, leading four players in double figures. Forward Romad Dean contributed a double-double of 11 points and 11 rebounds, while reserve Myles Rigsby added 10 points.

Meanwhile, third-seeded Wichita State stunned No. 2 seed Oklahoma State 96-70 in a dominant performance. The Shockers (now 24-11) erupted for 52 points in the second half, outscoring the Cowboys 52-33 after halftime.

Guard Kenyon Giles led all scorers with a game-high 28 points, draining eight three-pointers — including 18 points in the decisive second half — to fuel the upset.

The results set up an all-American Conference quarterfinal matchup between Tulsa and Wichita State, scheduled for March 24 or 25.
