GREENVILLE — East Carolina surged to a 28-11 lead and never trailed in a 73-64 American Athletic Conference win over Tulane in Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum on Thursday night.
R.J. Felton had 17 points as the Pirates improved to 18-12 overall and 10-7 in the AAC going into the regular season finale at Florida Atlantic (16-14, 9-8 AAC) on Sunday at 1 p.m. (ESPN+).
Tulane fell to 17-13 on the season and 11-6 in league play despite 21 points from Asher Woods.
Cam Hayes broke a tie at 3 with a 3-pointer and ECU stayed on top the rest of the way.
Jordan Riley and C.J. Walker scored 15 points each for the Pirates.
Hayes had 11 points and seven assists. Jayshayne Woodard added nine points.
The Green Wave topped ECU, 86-81, in New Orleans on Feb. 19 as Kaleb Banks scored 25 points and Rowan Brumbaugh added 21.
Banks was limited to seven points in the second meeting. Brumbaugh managed 13 although he committed five turnovers.
Walker had seven rebounds Thursday. Riley and Trevion LaBeaux grabbed six each.
ECU made all seven of its free throw attempts before a crowd of 4,343.
