COVID-19 issues within the St. John’s baseball program and the subsequent round of contact tracing have led to the cancellation of East Carolina’s three-game home series this weekend with the Red Storm.

ECU officials announced the development in a press release that revealed the Pirates will take advantage of the schedule alteration to play a two-game series at Elon. ECU will face the Phoenix at 6 p.m. on Friday and at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

The Pirates are set to conclude their non-conference slate on Tuesday when North Carolina visits Clark-LeClair Stadium for a 6:30 p.m. matchup.

A steady diet of American Athletic Conference games will begin for ECU next Thursday when the Pirates host Cincinnati for a four-game series that will played over three days.
