East Carolina had a good start, Zay Jones had a historic day and — for only the second time this season — the Pirates had both a 100-yard receiver and 100-yard rusher on Saturday. Senior receiver Jones and senior running back James Summers each eclipsed the century mark in production and the duo provided “explosion” plays of 40, 77, and 81 yards, but the Pirates couldn’t keep serve and were eventually run over by Navy. The Midshipmen’s nine rushing touchdowns were the most ever allowed by the Pirates in a single game as Navy rallied on Zay’s day to capture the American Athletic Conference West Division crown.
