J Nash on Compher accountable for football situation

If the movement for a new AD takes hold, there is one individual, an ECU alum, a Greenville native, who is honing his skills as an AD at a four-year institution. That individual . . . Jeff Barber of Liberty University. Just thinking, oh yeah, the last Pirate who give his heart to the program got fired. Maybe Jeff wouldn't even consider coming home but he is a fine individual who has worked in athletic departments of (I think) at least 4 institutions of higher learning.

I hope you are right Doug. Navy has typically cleaned our plow every time we have played them. It would be considered a hugh upset to beat them. I am wondering how many fans are going to stay home this Saturday. I still have not decided. GO....Pirates!

The game against SMU was a "heart breaker". We were favored by 6 points, but I fully expected a close shootout. They looked very prepared and we did not. I have fully supported coach "Mo," but can't help but believe that our AD may have made a bad hire. To say the natives are restless is an understatement. I, like many others, did not expect a great season, but I did not expect anything this bad either. I fully did not expect to beat Navy or Temple, but I did expect use to beat SMU. I'm not sure I am going to get up at six AM and drive three hours to see us get embarased again. Regardless, "GGOOO....PPIRATES"!!!

Al, Maybe ECU will have a Brexit game against Navy. That's the trend this year. We need for something positive to happen to us. Take care Doug

Richard Edwards on Long trip, long game

I believe we can beat SMU. I saw them play a while back (maybe Houston) and they certainly have a pretty good team. We need to play like we did against UCONN and I believe we will be just fine. GGOOO...PPIRATES!!!

Richard Edwards on No wiggle room for bowl

Hard game to watch. I knew that Tulsa had a really good team after seeing them on TV previously. They were obviously well prepared and were good at all aspects of the game. We obviously did not play our best. Penalties killed us for one thing.. We have to quit being our own worst enemy. We have the talent - we just have to execute and not shoot ourselves in the foot so much. I'll be in Greenville this weekend looking for a win. GGOO....PPIRATES!

Richard Edwards on View from the East: Leadership emerging from Pirate players

I was very please with how we played last Saturday as I am everyone was. It appeared to be improvement at all phases of the game. We are a good team; we need to play well here on out. I am looking for us to upset Tulsa. GGGOOO...PPIRATES.

Richard Edwards on Game Day Slants: Huskies can’t handle prolific Jones

Zay is great player and a fine young man - a credit to his university. I was also glad to see improved defense and special teams play. I have to admit when UCONN started on the opening drive at our 40 yard line, I was "oh, no did special teams fail to show up again." Rest of the game was great. GGGO...PPIRATES!!

Richard Edwards on Inside Game Day: Pirates perform on homecoming

An excellent game - certainly was medicine for fans who have been hurting from five straight losses. The team looked like the Pirates team that we have been used to seeing in the past. I have seem UCONN play on television and they looked like a pretty good team. I figured it would be close and was amazed that we pretty much shut them down. GGGOOOO....PPPIRATES!!!

Richard Edwards on From the Anchor Desk: Same song, different verse

Cincinnati game was disheartening; believed we had a good chance to win right up to last 5-6 minutes and we imploded and they exploded. I will be at the game with UCONN and I am praying for a win. Don't believe UCONN will be a push over. We have to be ready and play hard and Smart. GGOOO...PPIRATES!!

Kevin on Inside Game Day: Problematic pattern persists for Pirates

I think one of the things that is really hurting O is that every time Summers goes into the game - the opposing D knows exactly who is getting the ball. That is why we cannot do anything in the red zone. In comes Summers - they just stack the box, so predictable. And it started w/ the VT game. How about using him as a decoy once in a while. I mean no disrespect to JS - but goodness. How many plays this yr do we need 2 yards, and we can't get it. Coach - run a different play!!

Richard Edwards on Inside Game Day: Problematic pattern persists for Pirates

The Cincinnati game was painful to watch. I kept thing that we had a chance of winning right up to the half of the fourth quarter. It was almost like we were destined to lose. I will say that CU had what looked like bigger, faster and stronger players at each position.than what we have. Still, if we could have prevented the turnovers, I believe we had a good chance of winning. Next up is UCON who upset Cincinnati a short while ago. WE can beat them, but we have to stop the turnovers, etc. Lets go PIRATES!!!

Richard Edwards on Insights from Brett: Big 12 leaves AAC poised to thrive

I think the idea of the AAC being a "sixth power conference" is very viable. AAC has large schools (UFC and USF being two of the largest in the country) and even ECU being almost on a par with UNC in enrollment. The AAC is the new kid on the block and the "old powers that be" are doing what is typical - trying to look after their interest first (money and prestige). I am old school ECU and recall all to well the fight and struggle we had getting university status and a medical school. I am confident it is going to happen. "I believe." GOO....PPIRATES!!!

I guess those are good reasons, but I miss the old format. Certainly was better for computers.

Richard Edwards on From the Anchor Desk: Pirates reboot for second half

I'm getting excited about our game with Cincinnati. They are hungry for a win just as much as we are. They have a good team, but I have a gut feeling that we are going to win this one. Hope my gut is right. GGOOO.....PPIRATES!!!
