As a Gamecock and now son going to ECU we hated playing the Pirates because they were always solid. My first game in Greenville last Saturday and I was like...what the heck! This is not the ECU I remember.

I think someone slipped a mickey into into the pregame meal. The team and staff looked anemic.

Give Some! Take Some! You're PIRATES!!! Play like PIRATES!!!

I saw a team that was just plain SCARED! When was the last time anyone saw an ECU QB run to the sideline on 3rd down instead of diving for the sticks while down by 7 at home against a fired up team? Did JMU get the snap count instead of our O line? Sure looked like it as our O line was hesitant, slow and manhandled. The defensive line can learn from the JMU tape about how to dominate an O line. Its a lesson in how not to be pushed around. Did our linebackers even play? Was I watching the ECU Powder Puff team? Testosterone, anyone? Anywhere? I want our med school to physically check all players and coaches for a full pair of cohones. I've seen worse team during my 35 years of season tickets but they all had heart (even in the '80's). This team had better remove the tampons and dig out the old jock strap because now we start the season against real men playing smash mouth football at WV, VT and USF!

Slow motion, hesitation, manhandled. Our defensive line should watch the game film on how to dominate an offensive line. Jeez, I thought i was watching powder puff football (with the exception of the punter). Where were our linebackers? Better have coach check to see if they truly have a full pair. As a matter of fact, we'd better get the med school to check every member of the team including the coaching staff. Testosterone anyone? We need it I've been a season ticket holder for 35 years and have seen worse teams talent wise but they all had HEART. They were tough, smart and mean. It is time for this team to remove the tampons and locate the old jock straps, boys, because WV, VT and USF are on the horizon!

No amount of sunshine can replace the reality that the Pirates are down and close to out. Saturday's debacle was a disturbingly pitiful showing and painful to watch. Football is supposed to be fun at East Carolina. Well ... ITS NOT anymore!!!

Haha...that's right. Unfortunately no matter if it's VT, VCU or the sisters of the poor probably the same result.

I am retired, but when I was a working professional, I was expected to perform. If I didn't, then I started brushing up my resume real quick. The only thing that I saw this past Saturday was a team that was not prepared and one that did not perform. If there is not a drastic turn around soon, someone needs to be shown the door. That was the most discussing game ECU has ever played.

What I saw Saturday night was a team and coaching staff totally unprepared to take the field. West Virginia has to be licking their chops. Has anyone ever scored 100 points in a college football game before?

No doubt JMU is a very good team, very well coached, but, we are not a FCS school! Can't make excuses for bad behaviors...only going to lead to more "disappointment".

JMU is 2-0 vs the American Athletic conference in the last 3 years and is by no means the worst team ECU will play this year. After all they are the defending national champions at the FCS level. JMU is better than 40% of the FBS teams in the entire league.

I'm with you Jarman. '92 Grad and proud Pirate but my pride is really hurt right now. I was looking forward to spending my Saturdays tailgating in lot E but I refuse to spend that kind of money on an inferior product. The down ward spiral has just begun I'm afraid. Our offence was anemic our defense porous and we looked undisciplined and out matched in every aspect of the game. The word disappointed has been used a lot, mostly by our coach, the correct word is embarrassed. Pirate Nation deserves / demands a better product! Coach Mo-I do not care about your disappointment, I want you to be embarrassed! Embarrassed about how your team played and about how you coached! ..........Sitting here watching WVU vs VCU and typing this. Both of these teams will destroy us in week 2 and 3. Maybe we should just admit to all of college football that we made a mistake, ask for forgiveness and start over. Clean the slate, starting with the chancellor, then the AD, then the coach.

Are any of the Pirate faithful happy that our chancellor extended the athletic director's contract? The athletic director should have been the one fired instead of Ruff and after yesterday I think the chancellor's poor judgement puts him on the same slippery slope. We will end up 0 & 12 this year since yesterday was our easiest team to play. Graduate of '74 class & long time Pirate Club contributor but not buying tickets this year for this type of performance. Why spend big bucks on stadium improvements when you will not be able to fill it. Really sad!
