Coach Godwin is doing a great job and we had an unbelievable season. Unfortunately we stumbled in the conference tourney and that cost us the top 8 seed. Finishing as one of the top 16 teams in the country is very strong...... Keep it going Coach!

Irish Spectre on ECU whips Camels twice to cap regional comeback

...very happy for Pirates Nation! I watched the livestream of the last four games of the regional, and saw no weakness, up and down the lineup, and at every station on the field. Wow; after kind of stumbling down the backstretch after a stellar season, each of their last four contests was a "backs against the wall" situation, and the Pirates rose to it in a very big way. Every Pirate was locked in, a major time credit to their toughness and to Coach Godwin and his staff. Yes, Coach, thanks be to God. On to Louisville; a look at the Pirates tape will most certainly give the Cards something to think about. Go Pirates!

coach on Hoops getting extreme makeover

If it take older guys to make you better, why recruit high school athletes? Either take the time to grow with your young players, or just recruit juco players period. I would recommend high school parents to be very careful with this guy.

Yes, I did notice that our bull pin is thin, but Giles and Burleson might have done as good as or better than the home run pitcher. Did you happen to notice what Memphis did to start hitting our pitchers?? They choaked up on their bats about 2 inches. You can watch the video. Do you not think WSU will notice that? I have been a Pirate since I was 14 years old, I am 74. I have seen these "super" coaches come and go, I just don't won't a great chance to slip away again.

Cliff is the Man on Memphis avoids sweep by ECU

Have you not noticed our bullpen is a little thin, mainly due to two players we put a lot of reliance on being hurt? Cliff and Dan have limits as to what they can do. They are trying to rely on our offense to put us in a chance to win, like yesterday when, even on a bad pitching day, we were one hit from a win.

Can I make a simple statement? Godwin has done an outstanding job of teaching these guys to mechanics of baseball. In every one of the one run losses, he has not taken out a pitcher when they have hit a batter, walked two in a row, or had a home run hot off of them. Are we going to keep loosing these close run games over pitching changes? Overall, I think Coach Godwin has done a tremendous job.

Though I’m much younger than Earl I’ve known he and his wife most of my life. My wife and daughters are all Pirates. I used to go to Earl’s store just to talk Pirate stuff. Great article.
