Holton Ahlers was a living legend as a 12-year-old. He was a modern day Babe Ruth, setting a Greenville Little League record with 27 home runs in a single season. He hit a total of 40 home runs if you count the post season that year. Many of those home runs came just up the street from Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium at Elm Street Park.
