East Carolina sinks Saints

East Carolina shook off a
mediocre first half performance and assumed dominating command after
intermission to defeat Limestone 69-43 Saturday night in Greenville.
The Pirates led only 33-25
at the half but outscored the Division II Saints 36-18 in the final
frame to transform the game into a rout.
Senior guard James Legan
scored a game-high 14 points, freshman forward Darrius Morrow had 12
points and 10 rebounds and senior guard Sam Hinnant and sophomore wing
Jamar Abrams each recorded 11 points to help East Carolina improve to
7-1.
Freshman guard Michael
Barrett, with 11 points, was Limestone's only double-figure scorer as
the Saints fell to 2-3.
The Pirates will be off
for exams until returning to action next Saturday with a 7 p.m. home
game against UNC-Greensboro. The Spartans will come into Greenville with
a 1-5 record after a 77-62 loss to College of Charleston on Saturday.
