NEW ORLEANS — Tulane's 3-0 American Athletic Conference win over East Carolina on Saturday had some similarities to the Green Wave's 5-3 win over the Pirates on Friday night.

Tulane (21-9, 3-1 AAC) got another complete game on the mound, this one from Emerson Gibbs (3-1), and Hunter Williams had another productive day at the plate.

Williams hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the ninth on Friday to lift the Green Wave to victory.

Williams went 2-for-4 with two RBIs on Saturday. Williams singled to drive in two runs in the fourth for a 2-0 Tulane lead.

Stephen Alemais homered to left in the seventh to complete the scoring.

Jimmy Boyd (4-2) started and went five and two-thirds innings for ECU (20-11, 2-3). Boyd allowed four hits, two earned runs and walked three without a strikeout.

Matt Bridges yielded the home run to Alemais. Sam Lanier and Evan Voliva contributed scoreless relief stints.

Tulane had a 6-5 edge in hits. The Wave left eight on base while the Pirates stranded four.

Travis Watkins, Zack Mozingo, Kirk Morgan, Turner Brown and Garrett Brooks had hits for the Pirates.
