GREENVILLE — Moussa
Badiane had 15 points, 11 rebounds and 7 blocked shots to lead East
Carolina past North Carolina A&T 86-53 on Wednesday night.
Badiane was one of six
players in double figures for the Pirates (4-1), who converted 30 of 50
free throws. Derrick Wiley also scored 15 points and Erroyl Bing and
Gabriel Mikulas each had 10 points and nine rebounds.
East Carolina never
trailed, jumping out to a 40-19 halftime lead. The Aggies (0-5) made
only 4 of 19 shots from the field in the first half.
Sean Booker scored 15
points off the bench for North Carolina A&T. Steven Koger had 14 but
went 5-of-17 from the field.
The Pirates got 13 points
and five assists from Mike Cook and 10 points from Japhet McNeil.
The Aggies were whistled
for 35 fouls. Abraham Traore fouled out and two other players finished
with four fouls. East Carolina attempted 39 free throws in the second
half alone.
ECU returns to action on
Friday, Dec. 19, in an 8 p.m. home game against Gardner-Webb.
