In yesterday’s Pirate Notebook, I discussed the changes to the 2009 Conference USA Media Kickoff. The primary focus was on how economic challenges are forcing the league to experiment with video teleconferencing in lieu of the more traditional media gathering that has taken place in the past.

While that is accurate, I am obliged to clarify a misleading statement I made about coaches being unavailable to media members for in-person one-on-ones this year. C-USA actually will make all 12 head coaches available to the media during the AutoZone Liberty Bowl golf tournament at Ridgeway Country Club in Memphis, which is being held Monday, July 27.

Players will not be available, as was stated in yesterday’s column.

Though the C-USA Media Kickoff will have a completely different setup this year, we would be remiss without making this clarification. Bonesville.net and I are committed to delivering accurate information, along with honest and fair opinions.
