East Carolina coach Blake Harrell addressed the media Friday and fielded questions after the team’s eighth practice session and first scrimmage. He said the offensive line is showing signs of progress, noted that receiver Ray Ray Joseph is having “a great spring” and that the experience of transfer quarterbacks Emory Williams and Mitch Griffis is apparent. The Pirates will practice again on Monday.
ECU opens the 2026 season on Sept. 5 at Alabama. The Pirates finished 9-4 last season, capped off by a 23-17 triumph over Pittsburg in the Military Bowl.
