Join Al Myatt and Kevin Monroe for the second episode of Pirate Talk, a podcast devoted to year-round discussion of all things related to topics of interest to East Carolina fans. In this episode, Myatt and Monroe analyze the potential impact on the Pirates of the comings and goings through the two-way door represented by the college football transfer portal.

The exits of a number of key players, among them quarterback Katin Houser to Illinois, receiver Yannick Smith to Southern Methodist and receiver Anthony Smith to graduation, made it important for ECU to bring in its own talent haul through the portal. The Pirates had some notable successes in the effort, gaining some high-profile players. Among the newcomers, quarterbacks Emory Williams from Miami and Mitch Griffis from Texas Tech and wide receiver Ray Ray Joseph, also from Miami, will be donning the purple and gold next fall.

Pirate Talk will be periodically podcast when Myatt and Monroe determine that news or events warrant discussion. During the season, Myatt and Monroe analyze the Pirates and their opponent ahead of kickoff each week on the Bonesville Pregame Show.

Seasoned by five decades of experience as a sports journalist, Myatt has been an anchor columnist for Bonesville since the site’s founding in 2001. Monroe, color analyst for the Pirate Sports Network and a former ECU player, is contributing to Bonesville for the 18th straight year.
