GREENVILLE — Jordan Riley scored 24 points and Gio Emejuru added 21 as East Carolina subdued Presbyterian, 74-53, on Wednesday night in Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum

The Pirates scored the first seven points and never trailed.

ECU hit 24 of 44 field goal attempts for 54.5 percent. Riley was eight for 14 and Emejuru was nine for 11.

Tybo Bailey had 12 points, going three for four from beyond the arc and three for three at the line.

Luke Davis had eight points for the Pirates and Corey Caulker added seven.

Emejuru had seven rebounds as ECU led, 27-26. on the boards. The Pirates had fewer turnovers, 16-19.

Jaylen Peterson led Presbyterian with 17 points and eight rebounds.

“I thought we did a lot of things really well to be able to maintain control throughout the course of the game,” said ECU coach Mike Schwartz on the Pirate radio network.

ECU will play at North Carolina, currently No. 12, on Monday at 8 p.m. (ACC Network). The Tar Heels are 10-1 going into a game at Ohio State (8-3) on Saturday at 3 p.m., (CBS).
