East Carolina coach Blake Harrell fielded questions from reporters at his Monday press conference. He praised the way the Pirates executed in the 31-27 American Conference win over a formidable Memphis team and recognized the contributions of the fans and administration in creating an electric atmosphere at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium. He then turned his attention to the challenges presented in this Saturday’s league road clash with Texas-San Antonio (3:30 p.m., ESPN+). ECU (5-1 American, 7-3 overall) is already destined for a postseason berth and is also still in the chase for the conference championship. The Roadrunners, under sixth-year coach Jeff Traylor, are 3-3, 5-5, but are unbeaten at home in league games (11-0) since joining the American in 2023. They will be fighting to extend that streak against the Pirates to attain bowl eligibility.

Maybe its just me, but in the first half I could not help but think that someone from Memphis was paying the officials to help out UM. Things got better in the second half, but I was very concerned and a little ticked off with the several questionable flags. I was sooooo very happy for our team and fans. Goooo Pirates.
