East Carolina kicker Nick Mazzie has earned American Conference Special Teams Player of the Week honors for the second time this season. Defensive back TyMir Brown and quarterback Katin Houser received honorable mentions after helping power the Pirates to a 48-22 win over Charlotte, the league announced Monday.
Mazzie delivered a career-high 12 points on two field goals and six PATs. He is a perfect 30-for-30 on extra points this year, 11-of-12 on field goals (91.7%), and ranks eighth in The American in scoring at 7.88 points per game.
Brown claimed his first weekly recognition with a 45-yard pick-six of Charlotte QB Grayson Loftis in the first quarter.
Houser, now a two-time honorable mention, completed 26-of-41 passes for 224 yards and two touchdowns, plus two rushing scores. He accounted for all four Pirate touchdowns against the 49ers.
