East Carolina coach Blake Harrell fielded questions from reporters at his Monday press conference. He reviewed the Pirates’ win over Army leading into last week’s bye week and addressed preparations for another primetime American Conference matchup Thursday night at Tulane (7:30 p.m., ESPN). In preliminary remarks, Harrell honored the memory of recently deceased ECU alum and former assistant coach and longtime high school coaching icon Harold Robinson. He also touched on the dominating performance of ex-Pirate pitcher and current Toronto rookie phenom Trey Yesavage in the Blue Jays’ Sunday win over the New York Yankees in the American League Division Series.
