After its improbable, unbeaten run through the American Athletic Conference Championship tournament, East Carolina’s destination for the postseason will be only a bus ride away from Greenville.
The Pirates were awarded a No. 3 seed in the Conway (SC) Regional hosted by Coastal Carolina and will face No. 2 seed Florida (38-20) in the regional’s first game at 12 p.m. Friday. The game will be televised on ESPN2.
The top seed Chanticleers will take on No. 4 Fairfield at 6 p.m. Coastal is the No. 13 overall national seed.
The regional features a four-team, double-elimination tournament and will be played at Springs Brooks Stadium.
