GREENVILLE — Dixon Williams, John Collins and Michael Kalinich hit home runs for East Carolina in a 12-0 win on the run rule in seven innings over William & Mary in the opener of a 3-game series at Clark-LeClair Stadium on Friday evening.
Ethan Norby (2-2) pitched a complete game. The sophomore left-hander scattered five hits with two walks and six strikeouts.
The teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 2 p.m. The second game is scheduled to get underway 45 minutes after the first game is completed. The forecast of unfavorable weather on Sunday caused the adjustment.
Williams put ECU on top with a 2-run homer in the first.
Collins had a 2-run blast in the third.
The Pirates (10-8), who moved two games above .500 for the first time this season, scored seven runs in the fourth as Williams had a 2-run double and Collins brought in two runs with a single up the middle.
A run scored on an error before an RBI double by Davin Whitaker and a run-scoring single by Austin Irby.
Kalinich homered in the sixth. Parker Byrd singled in the last turn at the plate for ECU.
Williams and Collins each had four RBIs as the Pirates outhit the Tribe, 12-5.
ECU played errorless defense in dropping the visitors to 5-13.
