The Military Bowl will match in-state rivals East Carolina and N.C. State on Dec. 28 at 5:45 p.m. at Navy Marine Corps Stadium in Annapolis.
Tickets were scheduled to go on sale on Sunday (Dec. 8) at 4 p.m. The phone number for the ECU ticket office is (252) 328-4500.
A bowl matchup with the Wolfpack completed the Pirates’ 1991 season at 11-1 with a 37-34 triumph in the Peach Bowl.
“I’m excited for the young men in our program along with our coaches, staff and administration,” said ECU coach Blake Harrell. “Representing our university in Annapolis and allowing our seniors one final opportunity to wear the Pirate uniform is something special.
“We look forward to the opportunity to face an ACC opponent and play one last game in front of Pirate Nation.”
ECU (7-5) won four straight games to become bowl eligible after Harrell became interim coach on Oct. 20. State (6-6) topped North Carolina, 35-30, in Chapel Hill on Nov. 30 to earn a postseason opportunity.
The Pack has a 17-17-1 record in bowl games while the Pirates are 10-11.
State. which leads the series, 19-13, won the last meeting in Greenville, 21-20, in the 2022 season opener as ECU was wide right on a 41-yard field goal with five seconds left.
The Pirates were scheduled to play in the 2021 Military Bowl, but the game was called off because of COVID issues with Boston College. Maryland topped ECU in the Military Bowl, 51-20, in 2010.

If our players continue to leave via the “portal” not going to be much of a game to watch. When are we going to regulate this ridiculous system?!

Between that and sitting out bowl games for the NFL draft, it’s getting to the point that this once great tradition of college sports is coming to an end. Unless it’s for the playoff. Only possible solution is bonus money for players in bowl games.

Imagine the 91 Peach Bowl now. Blake probably sits out along with Jones. Our CUSA title probably doesn’t happen with Chris Johnson on the sideline decked out in gold chains.
Very disappointing says
There has to be limitations on this stuff. One transfer in a career, out of conference, and then u r done. And the portal should NOT be open until after the bowls!! No loyalty anymore. ECU gave you a chance to become a better player. It’s me me me now. Even the NFL has better regulations with cap and a draft. This is just a joke!
