GREENVILLE — East Carolina returned from a break for Thanksgiving with a 93-69 thumping of North Carolina A&T in Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum on Friday.

C.J. Walker had 23 points as the Pirates improved to 7-1. Walker was nine for 13 from the field and hit all five of his free throws.  He had five assists.

Cam Walker contributed 20 points with five rebounds and six assists

Jordan Riley had 11 points, six assists and five rebounds in 19 minutes.

ECU led, 44-33, after 20 minutes with a narrow 19-18 advantage on the boards.

“The rebounding, we definitely addressed at halftime,” said Pirates coach Mike Shwartz on the ECU radio network. “There were two things we weren’t pleased with. It was the rebounding and transition defense.”

The Pirates finished with a 36-29 rebounding lead.

Walker had 17 points in the second half.

There were 4,260 fans on hand.

The Aggies (3-3) were paced by Ryan Forrest with 25 points.

Hayes hit a three for the first points of the game with 19:11 on the clock and ECU stayed on top the rest of the way.

The Pirates host UNC-Wilmington on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The Seahawks are 4-2 going into a home game with Appalachian State (5-2) on Sunday at 3 p.m.
