East Carolina was named one of 16 sites on Sunday night to host a regional in the NCAA baseball tournament.

Play will begin at Clark-LeClair Stadium in the Greenville regional with two games on Friday.

The bracket for the tournament and the teams that will be playing in Greenville will be announced on Monday at noon (ESPN2).

ECU (43-15) won the American Athletic Conference regular season championship. The Pirates are 26-4 at home. ECU has been ranked as high as No. 5 by D1 Baseball this season.

This will be the 77th annual NCAA Tournament. ECU is hosting a regional at Clark-LeClair Stadium for the sixth time. The Pirates are in the NCAA Tournament for the 34th time.

Pirate Club members and season ticket holders may purchase tickets at ECUPirates.com through the Athletics Ticket Office. If any tickets are available on Wednesday, at 9 a.m., there will be a public sale.

The SEC and ACC each received five regional host sites.

The SEC venues include Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee and Texas A&M.

ACC host sites include Clemson, Florida State, North Carolina, N.C. State and Virginia.

Also playing at home will be Arizona, Cal Santa Barbara, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Oregon State.
