East Carolina will be playing in much drier conditions than in last week’s 44-0 win over Gardner-Webb in Greenville as the Pirates visit Rice to start American Athletic Conference play tonight with a kickoff at 7 p.m. (Eastern time). The forecast is calling for a temperature of 90 degrees at the outset with a heat index of 92. The sun will be out with a zero percent chance of rain and wind from the southeast at nine miles per hour. By the end of the game the temperature will drop to 82 degrees with wind continuing from the southeast at seven miles per hour with gusts up to 14.
