ORLANDO — Darin Green Jr. hit a 3-pointer from the left wing as time expired to give Central Florida a 69-66 American Athletic Conference win over visiting East Carolina on Sunday.
The Knights inbounded to Green from their offensive baseline with 2.3 seconds remaining.
Ludgy Debaut had an offensive rebound and scored from close range on ECU’s last possession to tie the score at 66 with six seconds left.
Green missed a three before both teams took timeouts prior to the game-winning shot.
The Pirates had a 60-56 lead with 3:47 left before falling to 13-13 overall and 4-10 in the AAC.
Tristen Newton paced ECU with 19 points. Tremont Robinson-White scored 14, Brandon Suggs had 13 and Vance Jackson added 10.
Green led UCF (16-9, 8-7) with 19 points.
The Knights completed a regular-season sweep of the Pirates that included a 92-85 overtime win in Greenville on Jan. 18, a contest that ECU led by 20 points.
The Pirates will be going for a sweep of their own as they host South Florida (7-19, 2-12) on Wednesday at 7 p.m. ECU took a 65-57 road win over the Bulls on Thursday night.
