Baseball NewsVirus puts ECU-Houston series in limbo

April 16, 2021 By Bonesville Staff Leave a Comment

For the second time this season the coronavirus pandemic has impacted East Carolina’s baseball schedule.

The 8th-ranked Pirates’ four-game road series with fellow American Athletic Conference member Houston that was to begin with a doubleheader today (April 16) has been postponed due to COVID-19 issues within the Cougars’ program.

The development was announced Thursday evening in an ECU news release, which indicated that it is yet to be determined if the series will be rescheduled later this season.

The schedule disruption comes three weeks after a scheduled ECU home series with non-conference foe St. John’s (Mar. 26-28) was cancelled when coronavirus-related issues arose within the Red Storm’s program.

The Pirates are set to host AAC foe Central Florida for a four-game series beginning with a doubleheader on Friday, April 23.
