In a scenario reminiscent of this scene from a year ago, when a tarp covered the infield at Clark-LeClair Stadium during a rain delay in the 2018 NCAA Greenville Regional, Friday’s opening games in the 2019 Greenville Regional were impacted by storms. The contest between Campbell and N.C. State was suspended until Saturday with the Camels leading going into the bottom of the 9th, while the Pirates’ matchup with Quinnipiac was postponed until Saturday. (File photo by Al Myatt)

The schedule for the NCAA baseball regional at East Carolina was changed due to weather issues on Friday.

The opening game between third-seeded Campbell and second-seeded N.C. State was not completed. That contest was scheduled to resume at noon on Saturday with the Camels leading, 5-4, going to the bottom of the ninth inning.

Top-seed ECU had its opening game with fourth-seeded Quinnipiac postponed to Saturday at 4 p.m.

Plans call for NCAA officials to announce the remainder of the regional schedule upon completion of the Bobcats-Pirates matchup.
