The Pirates scored all the runs needed with a 2-run second. Burleson led off with a hit and Turner Brown walked. Despite a double play, Burleson scored on an infield single by Brady Lloyd, who stole second and came home on a single to left by Dusty Baker.

Taylor Wright doubled in the fourth for Maryland, stole third and scored on a passed ball.
