ORIGINAL STORY: East Carolina and UNC-Wilmington were waiting out an electrical storm on Sunday evening in the Greenville regional of the NCAA baseball tournament.

The game went into a lightning delay with two out in the bottom of the fourth and ECU holding a 3-0 lead.

The Pirates went ahead on a two-run single by Turner Brown in the top of the second inning. Alec Burleson started the frame with a single up the middle and Connor Litton followed with a double to center.

Brown moved to second on a single by Brady Lloyd. Brown went to third on a fly to center by Bryant Packard and scored on a sacrifice fly to left by Dwanya Williams-Sutton.

Officials indicated the game would resume at 8:30 p.m.

UPDATE: The game resumed at 8:30 p.m. after a delay of 5 hours and nine minutes.
