GREENVILLE — Campbell scored six runs in the top of the sixth for a 7-3 lead at No.9 East Carolina on Tuesday night, but the Pirates answered with six runs in the bottom of the frame on the way to a 12-7 nonconference victory.

Christian Jones had a three-run home in the big frame for the Camels (29-22), who clinched the Big South Conference regular-season championship on Sunday.

The Pirates (38-13) began their rally with a walk to Andrew Henrickson. A double by Brady Lloyd put runners at second and third. Jeremy Whitehead had a ground out RBI to trim the lead to 7-4. An error on a fielder’s choice by Turner Brown resulted in an unearned run.

A double by Bryant Packard put runners at second and third. Brown scored on a wild pitch. Dwanya Williams-Sutton was hit by a pitch. Williams-Sutton stole second and Packard came home on a wild pitch to tie the score at 7.

Williams-Sutton scored the go-ahead run on a double by Spencer Brickhouse. A wild pitch put Brickhouse at third and he scored on a sacrifice fly by Connor Litton.

Williams-Sutton had a pair of two-run homers, the first gave ECU a 2-0 lead in the first inning and the second completed the scoring in the seventh.

Williams-Sutton went 4-for-4 with four RBIs and three runs.

Packard was 3-for-5 with three runs.

Packard, Williams-Sutton, Brickhouse, Lloyd and Brown had doubles for the Pirates, who led 12-8 in hits.

Evan Voliva (1-0), the sixth of seven ECU pitchers, turned in two and two-thirds scoreless innings. West Covington started and kept the visitors scoreless for three innings. Willy Strong, Jake Kuchmaner, Sam Lanier, Zach Barnes and Cam Colmore also saw mound duty.

ECU closes the regular season with a three-game American Athletic Conference series at Connecticut. The first game is Thursday at 1 p.m.
