NEW ORLEANS — Spencer Brickhouse hit a two-run homer in the top of the first to put East Carolina ahead to stay in a 6-1 win at Tulane on Sunday that completed a sweep of the three-game American Athletic Conference series.
Dwanya Williams-Sutton was aboard on an error when Brickhouse homered down the right field line.
Connor Litton walked with one away in a three-run third for the Pirates. Andrew Henrickson had an infield single and Litton scored on a throwing error on the play as ECU went ahead, 3-1.
Henrickson scored on a single to right center by Brady Lloyd. Lloyd stole second and went to third on a wild pitch. He scored on a sacrifice fly by Seth Caddell.
Bryant Packard had an RBI single in the eighth to complete the scoring.
Packard went 3-for-5 and Caddell finished 2-for-3.
Tyler Smith (7-1) allowed four hits and one earned run over five innings with no walks and four strikeouts.
Jake Agnos went three innings and yielded one hit while fanning four.
Trey Benton pitched the ninth and posted a pair of whiffs.
The Pirates improved to 33-12 overall and 11-7 in the AAC going into a nonconference home game with Norfolk State on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
