A crisp fall afternoon is in store as East Carolina hosts Southern Methodist for a noon kickoff today. The temperature will be 53 degrees as the American Athletic Conference contest gets underway at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium in Greenville with 43 percent humidity. Wind could be a factor with a north-northeast breeze projected at 13 miles per hour at the outset that will diminish to 10 mph by 3 p.m. There is a zero per cent chance of precipitation throughout the seventh game of the series, which the Pirates lead, 4-2.
