The Pirates performed on homecoming, routing American Athletic Conference foe Connecticut 41-3.  After being held “sackless” in the last five outings, the East Carolina defense responded with four sacks and limited UConn to only one Red Zone possession. On offense, three different players (Philip Nelson, James Summers, Zay Jones) threw TD passes and Jones passed Oklahoma’s Ryan Broyles to move into second place on the all-time NCAA/FBS receptions chart.
