Tropical Storm Hermine is expected to be pulling away from Greenville by the 6 p.m. kickoff for East Carolina’s season opener, leaving damp and possibly slippery turf at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium with north-northwest winds at 14 miles per hour at game time.
The temperature will range downward from 73 degrees at the outset of the nonconference contest with Western Carolina to 68 degrees by game’s end. There is only a five percent chance of a shower after downpours Friday and earlier Saturday. The winds will reduce to about six miles per hour, becoming less of a factor as the game progresses.
