Hoops recruiting: Class of 2017-18 starts with sweet-shooting wing

August 24, 2016 By Danny Whitford Leave a Comment

East Carolina has gotten a solid early start on itsĀ 2017-18 recruiting class with a commitment fromĀ Portsmouth (VA) Norcom all-state small forward Kevin “K.J.” Davis.

A rangy shooter and rebounder, the 6-6, 185-pounder played a key role in the Greyhounds’ Group 3-A state championship run last season and capped off the campaign with a 16-point, 10-rebound performance in a 52-40 win over Kings Fork in the title game.

Heading into his senior season, Davis had accumulated nine early offers and his long-range marksmanship had him on the radar of a number of other schools when he committed to ECU head coach Jeff Lebo earlier this month.
